Archive for the ‘Fun Fridays’ Category

So I missed Fun Friday because I posted the clip of Inside the Body Beautiful, but there was something I saw last week that was perfect Fun Friday material!

Buzzfeed’s What It’s Like To Be A Twentysomething, As Told By Mean Girls, Bridesmaids and Girls struck a chord with me, so if you’re female, I reckon you’ll feel the same about life now, or how life was at one point!

Yeah, no excuses, I should have posted way more than I have.

So as a ‘sorrryyy’ I’m giving you Fun Friday Bad Lip Reading. It’s a channel on youtube where they lip read what an artist is singing in a video or clips from films and dub over what they look like they’re saying. But I’m sure you got that from the title… Bad Lip Reading.

If you like this, definitely check out the Hunger Games one.

You’re welcome.

Fun Friday! Oh how I have missed fun friday.

About a month ago this advert came out for Marks and Spencers…

As soon as this came on TV I noticed the Plus Sized model and was elated. Another plus size range in Marks and Spencers – I have yet to check it out in person, but I’ve had a lookie online; I was quite intrigued. For those of you who don’t know, Marks and Spencers is a department store which is mainly for the older person, but is constantly changing up it’s clothing lines to incorporate all ages. And sizes now, which is brilliant!

Already won over by the Plus Sized model, I looked up the advert on youtube to analyse weight and body shape (obviously) and then I spotted…do mine eyes deceive me? A mature model. Gorgeous, silver-haired, I didn’t even notice she was older until I looked properly!

As this article states, the model’s ages range from 20 to 57 and sizes 8 to 16 (UK). Brilliant, I love this. Diversity for the win.

How do you feel about this advertisement, from weight, age, ethnic origin to fashion?

Hooray for Fun Friday!

My brother showed me this video of adults acting out a story made up by children. It’s called Salesman and the theme is if movies were written by our children.

What do you think? Blockbuster material?

You’re welcome.

Fun Friday 🙂

Have I got a cracker for you.

I just found a brilliant sit called Eating Disorder Life Problems and like ED Treatment Problems and Eating Disorder memes… it’s brilliant! My favourite:

What it’s like to have an eating disorder.

This one is for Fiona:

What starting recovery feels like.

This one is for Greta (it involves a cat):

How I think people watch me eat in public.

This is for Missy, because you handle situations so well!:

“Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”.

This one is for Rabbit Hearted Jo, just because I thought it might make you laugh:

In treatment, that one creepy patient.

And this one … is for Fiona again:

How I feel, every second of every day.

What do you guys think of Eating Disorder memes and gifs and generally having a laugh at EDs expense?

You’re welcome.

For the second Fun Friday I thought I’d go a tad patriotic!

I’m definitely proud to be British – we moan a lot, especially about the weather, and I think most of us had such low expectations for the opening ceremony that we were bracing ourselves to never live the embarrassment of showing ‘British countryside’ as our ‘thing’. But I should have had more faith.

I love Danny Boyle, the director of the opening ceremony, who also directed Trainspotting (1996) , 28 Days Later… (2002) and Slumdog Millionaire (2008) was a brilliant choice. As one of my favourite directors, I was excited to see it.

I just didn’t know the Queen was going to skydive with James Bond and Mr Bean was going to make an appearance. #Classic

The only clip I could find on youtube that wasn’t still shots of the opening ceremony was this moment, which took us all by surprise. For those of you who don’t know much about British culture or the Royal family… the Queen never makes comedic appearances like this, even for the Olympics.

I love the fact that the Olympics brings all countries together for competitive sports, and unless you’ve been living under a rock, it’s been brilliant so far.

I like the male swimmers. Because I love swimming, of course! No other reason…

P.s. I know the Queen didn’t actually skydive, but I like to pretend that she did.
